Job Summary:
The Store In-Charge is responsible for managing the overall operations of the store/warehouse, ensuring efficient handling of raw materials, packing materials, and consumables. This role involves inventory management, stock control, material issuance, and coordination with procurement and production teams to maintain smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels for raw materials, consumables, and packing materials.
- Ensure timely receipt, storage, and issuance of materials as per production requirements.
- Conduct periodic stock verification and reconciliation to prevent discrepancies.
- Implement and monitor FIFO (First-In-First-Out) and LIFO (Last-In-First-Out) methods as per requirements.
2. Stock Control & Documentation:
- Maintain inward and outward stock registers with proper documentation.
- Ensure all stock transactions are recorded in ERP inventory management systems.
- Generate and review daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports for management.
3. Coordination with Departments:
- Work closely with the procurement team to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
- Coordinate with the production department for material issuance as per job orders.
4. Warehouse Organization & Safety:
- Ensure proper storage and handling of materials to avoid damage or wastage.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the store/warehouse area.
- Enforce safety standards and procedures for material handling.
5. Vendor & Supplier Coordination:
- Verify received materials against purchase orders and quality standards.
- Communicate with vendors for discrepancies, shortages, or rejections.
- Monitor and report slow-moving or obsolete inventory items.
6. Compliance & Audit:
- Ensure adherence to company policies and statutory norms related to store operations.
- Prepare for internal and external audits related to inventory and stock management.
- Implement best practices to minimize inventory loss and pilferage.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 8-10 years of experience in storekeeping/inventory management in a manufacturing setup.
- Knowledge of inventory management software (MS Dynamics BS 365 ERP, MS Dynamics Navision or similar ERP systems).
- Strong understanding of material handling and warehouse operations.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage a team and coordinate with multiple departments.
Work Environment:
- Factory-based role with hands-on involvement in material handling.
- Requires standing, lifting, and overseeing warehouse activities.
- May involve extended hours during peak production or audits.
